Possibly. I suppose their music may sound similar but I don't think his voice does at all. They both emerged at the same time so they both have that danceable garage band for the new millennium kind of thing going on.

One of the Leone's shows had these guys on, and they sounded like a dead-on impersonation of The Strokes, I thought that's who it was before I remembered the name. Does their other stuff sound like a Strokes cover band?

I really don't think they took too many liberties, at least for the songs I know, they're right on.

1-5-6-4 isn't even the worst offender I don't think. Maybe more so in the last 20 years or so, but 1-4-5-4 has way more songs built on it than probably any other progression. All old country, early rock, and blues is 1-4-5-4, so I think it wins.

The more individual tracks I find from the mixes the more impressed I am. The way S&D blended the tracks and how they chose to cut from one track to the next is nothing short of brilliant. The way energy is carried from song to song is exactly the way a mix should be done. This was without a doubt the most influential set of mixes for me as a DJ. I'm not saying I lived up to that

I'll agree with that. Their videos are fun/interesting but the music is fairly "meh." The only reason they're of interest to me is the op-ed they penned and how very shortly after it's publishing they put a new video up that you can embed. Of course, as my friend Paul pointed out, the embedding of this video was only allowed b/c State Farm paid for it.
